About
The Melbourne Anglican Benevolent Society (MABS) is a Public Benevolent Institution established for the following purposes:
-
- The direct relief of poverty, sickness, suffering, distress, misfortune, destitution or helplessness on a parish-by-parish basis within the Anglican Diocese of Melbourne
- The provision of financial and other assistance to unemployed youth, emergency accommodation for youth, crisis and other counselling for the needy, on a parish-by-parish basis
- The direct relief of poverty, sickness, suffering, distress, misfortune, destitution or helplessness on a parish-by-parish basis within the Anglican Diocese of Melbourne
“The financial support of the Melbourne Anglican Foundation has meant a great deal to us at Winter Night Shelter. We have very vulnerable people of all ages coming through our doors to sleep in our churches. They are given a warm bed, a healthy home cooked meal and a friendly face to chat to. Knowing that we are able to provide for and support people because of a grant received from an organisation like the Melbourne Anglican Foundation not only makes our work possible but takes the worry away of being financially able to continue the program. We are most grateful for your kind donation.”
